Floor Joists & Trussed Rafters
We offer both an I joist or metal web for your structural floor solution. We can also supply your trussed rafter requirements for both timber frame or SIPS panels and masonry construction.

I Joists
I-joists are engineered wood joists shaped like the letter "I", designed for strength and stability in floor (and roof) systems. They are typically made with oriented strand board (OSB) for the web and laminated veneer lumber (LVL) for the flanges, offering a lightweight yet strong alternative to solid timber. I-joists are commonly used in residential and commercial construction in the UK.

Metal Web
Metal web joists, also known as open-web joists, are structural components that combine timber chords with pressed metal webs to create an "open-web" design. This design allows for easy access to services and utilities, making them popular for both domestic and commercial construction in the UK.

Trussed Rafters
A trussed rafter is a prefabricated, triangulated structural framework used to support the roof tiles. It's made from timber with steel connector plates, designed to distribute the roof's weight evenly across supporting walls. This allows for larger spans and more flexible layouts. Trusses are pre-engineered and manufactured off-site, leading to quicker installation and potentially lower costs.
